Whether it's our slings or our baby carrier, all our fabrics come from eco-responsible weavers. Our slings are then handmade in France by our seamstresses. They are all stay-at-home mothers, and we are committed to promoting ethical manufacturing. Our baby carriers, however, are assembled in Turkey.
-
A pre-order is an order placed for an item that is not yet manufactured, released, or simply not yet in stock . Pre-orders therefore allow customers to reserve products before they are even available.
-
In order for the instructor to best support you, it is preferable to wait until the baby is born and with you.

Physiological carrying
-
A physiological position is when the baby's natural physiology is respected. It closely resembles the fetal position.
To achieve a physiological position, the following is necessary:
- The baby's legs form an "M". For this to happen, the baby's knees must be raised and higher than their hips.
- The fabric / belt of the baby carrier should reach into the hollow of the knees.
- The baby's back should be nicely rounded, and its buttocks should form a nice rocking motion in the fabric pocket.
- The arms must be inside*
- The baby's hip gap is respected
- The fabric should extend up to the nape of the neck
- Baby should be at kissing heightDon't hesitate to watch our featured videos on Instagram to check the correct physiological position for your baby!
Once your baby has the muscle tone to hold their back up and can sit up on their own (around 6 months), it's perfectly normal for them to want to be more involved in being carried and to explore the world. They often take their arms out of the carrier. This is normal and they won't be any less safe. If they fall asleep, remember to put their arms back in the carrier.
-
For as long as you like! As many hours as the wearer and the child desire! Carrying your baby/toddler meets physiological needs; it allows them to be and feel safe. Baby discovers and explores the world at eye level.
However, for extended periods of carrying, we recommend moving the fabric, or moving the baby's arms and legs within the carrier, to avoid constant pressure points.
-
Yes, of course! Baby is nestled against you, your movements soothe and calm them. They can sleep peacefully and safely. It's always important to ensure their airways are clear, and we encourage you to check that your baby is in the correct position while carrying them.
-
No, while we understand your extreme fatigue and the exhaustion that having an infant at home can cause, it is strongly discouraged, and even forbidden, to fall asleep with your baby in a carrier. It is very important to remain vigilant and ensure that your baby's airways are always clear. Furthermore, lying down while sleeping could put harmful pressure on your baby.
-
Yes, yes, yes, and yes again! Babywearing meets the baby's physiological needs and even allows for safe skin-to-skin contact. Unless there are contraindications or special circumstances, you can carry your baby from birth.
However, we recommend that mothers who have just given birth not force themselves to carry their babies in the long term in order to preserve their perineum.
-
There is no set age. It will depend on your child's independence and the wearer's ability to carry a greater or lesser weight.
It is considered that the child's weight begins to have a potential impact on the health of the carrier from about 30% of the carrier's weight (i.e. 21kg for a 70kg carrier, which corresponds to an average 6-year-old child).
You will notice that as the child grows, their need to be carried decreases.
-
Yes, absolutely, except in specific cases. As long as carrying doesn't cause you any difficulty. We'll make sure to carry you high enough to avoid putting tension on the scar. Also, since the carrier will replace your arms, it's best to distribute the weight evenly.
-
Absolutely not! It is precisely the baby's physiological position that allows for stable head support.
-
Whether it's cold or hot, the key word is: mobility!
We recommend dressing your baby in comfortable and flexible clothing. This will allow for good mobility, and therefore help achieve a physiological position in which your baby will be comfortable.
-
A layer of fabric in a baby carrier is equivalent to a layer of fabric in a garment. Depending on the thickness of your carrier, it can replace the equivalent of a small bodysuit or a light undershirt.
When it is hot, there is no need to add a bodysuit to the baby; it is possible to put him/her directly in a diaper/pants directly in the carrier.
Carrying your baby in hot weather helps regulate their body temperature (much better than if they were lying on something synthetic). However, we recommend avoiding going out during rush hour. Also, be sure to protect your baby well: hat, sunscreen, sunglasses... and for those less keen on sunscreen, there are UV-protective babywearing gaiters/leggings or those made of merino wool (merino wool is thermoregulating and therefore popular with parents). Don't hesitate to take regular breaks, and above all, keep your baby well hydrated.
The added bonus: Linen is also a thermoregulating material, perfect for hot weather or when it's cold!
-
A layer of fabric in a baby carrier is equivalent to a layer of fabric in a garment. Depending on the thickness of your carrier, it can replace the equivalent of a small bodysuit or a light undershirt.
It is therefore unnecessary and even discouraged to overdress your baby in a carrier. This could restrict their movement, hindering proper rocking and making it difficult to achieve a physiological position. Avoid coats, snowsuits, etc. Remember that you generate body heat, which helps regulate your baby's temperature.
On the other hand, you can dress the baby's extremities using leg warmers, gloves, hats, etc...
When you go out, it is best to dress the baby over the carrier.
For this purpose, there are jackets, coats and babywearing covers. The added bonus: Linen is a thermoregulating material, perfect for hot weather or when it's cold!
-
No, that's a misconception! Babies can be "addicted" to being carried, but it's not a "bad habit"! On the contrary, the benefits of babywearing are well-established.
We are one of the few mammals that are not able to walk from birth. In fact, it will take us almost a year before we can do so (a child typically starts walking around 12 months of age, however not all children walk at the same age, and that's normal, they don't all develop the same skills at the same age).
Babywearing addresses the significant immaturity of very young children. Carrying your baby allows them to feel emotionally secure and to develop at a human level, alongside their human. Feeling secure in this way, the baby will develop a certain independence and autonomy as they grow. Babywearing also contributes to the child's healthy psychomotor and brain development.
-
Beyond all the benefits that babywearing provides for your baby, it frees up your arms! This list is not exhaustive:
- Regulation of vital signs
- In cases of GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), babywearing can help soothe the baby's pain.
- Reduces or prevents cephaloplasia - Recommended in cases of hip dysplasia
- Aids in proper motor development
- Reduction in baby crying
- Reduction of infant colic
- Emotional security
-
The fundamental safety rule is to ensure that the airways are clear. This means that the baby's face must be uncovered, the fabric must extend to the nape of the neck, and your baby should not be curled up (chin to chest).
-
It is perfectly possible to carry several babies at once. However, the carrying time will be shorter because the weight is doubled or even tripled. We recommend using a different carrier for each child, so that you can easily take one child out of the carrier rather than having to undo everything.
If you're carrying twins, the order doesn't matter. However, if you're carrying a toddler and an infant, it's best to carry the older/heavier child on your back. While carrying twins is possible, it can sometimes be uncomfortable, so we recommend carrying one child while you attend to the other (playing, diaper changes, etc.).
We also recommend that you seek guidance from a certified babywearing instructor if needed, contact us, and even meet other parents of twins!
As for the carrying methods to use, you can combine:
- 2 baby carriers (child placed on the back first)
- 1 baby carrier + 1 sling (baby carrier on the back first)
- 2 slings
-
Except in specific cases, of course! Just be sure to use the right carrier to avoid any pressure on your stomach. Ideally, choose a carrier without a waistband, such as a sling.
-
- Machine wash at 40°C. Cover the rings with a sock.
- Use a laundry detergent that does not contain dye.
- Place in a tumble dryer
- Steam iron after washing (linen loves heat)
-
Yes, absolutely! The sling is truly the ideal tool for breastfeeding.
Once your baby is in the sling, simply loosen the ring near the nape of your baby's neck slightly to position them in the "Amazon" position. This means tilting them onto their side so they can nurse as if you were holding them in your arms in the Madonna position.
Once you are both comfortably positioned, don't hesitate to tighten the sling if needed. Keep one arm firmly behind the baby's neck. Since the upright physiological position is no longer maintained, the baby's head is no longer able to remain stable.
This position is a short-term position; it is not recommended to carry the baby in this position, as the arm behind the neck is essential and the physiological position is not respected.
-
Yes, absolutely! Babywearing is even recommended in cases of plagiocephaly.
The physiological position will free up head mobility. Carrying the baby will help avoid the pressure on their head that can be caused by repeated lying down.
The Exquisite
-
Yes, the headrest is included with the medium-sized baby carrier.
-
We recommend three positions for carrying your baby, and they are all with your front facing the wearer:
- Baby's tummy on parent's tummy
- Baby's belly on parent's hip
- Baby's tummy on parent's back
A forward-facing position is strongly discouraged, as it prevents the baby from achieving the correct physiological position. It is even dangerous because the baby's weight is not properly distributed, causing the weight to shift forward and potentially leading to the wearer falling.
Furthermore, carrying a child facing outwards causes stress, as they receive a lot of information and stimuli without being able to feel secure with their parent.
If baby has a strong desire to discover the world, we recommend putting baby on the back of the carrier.
-
With our exquisite model, we recommend a rear-facing seat from 6 months of age, or from the moment when the baby is able to sit up on their own.
However, feel free to seek guidance from a certified babywearing consultant, or come and ask us for advice. It's perfectly normal to need some time before gaining the confidence to carry your baby on your back.
-
For proper installation, check that the baby carrier settings allow the baby to have clear airways (so that the panel is not too high), that the belt is placed below the chest so that the baby is at kissing height, and that the fabric fits well on both sides of the baby's knees without forcing the hips apart.
Don't hesitate to contact us so we can check the installation together. Also, with Bud&Blossom, you'll receive a free 30-minute online babywearing workshop with one of our certified instructors with every baby carrier purchase from our shop.
-
Our baby carrier was designed to accommodate babies from birth.
However, to be sure that the Exquis is suitable for your child, during installation, check that it does not force the baby's hip abduction.
-
Yes, it's a physiologically correct carrying method, so it can be used for hiking. Its light weight is also a major advantage for long walks.
-
Our exquisite product has been designed to suit almost all body types.
Our belt is suitable for waist sizes up to 125cm (just below the chest).
In order for the belt to stay in the rings it is important to leave at least 10 cm protruding.
If your waist is very slim and the rest of the belt bothers you, feel free to go around again, passing the belt under the baby's bottom.
-
For added comfort, you can opt for Cloud , the additional strap cover.
Cloud strap cover offers more carrying comfort for people size 42 and above who wish to carry their baby front-facing with the straps crossed in the back.
The Exquisite+ Toddler
-
You can assume that the Exquis+ Toddler is the Exquis... but bigger! So all the answers to questions about the classic Exquis also apply to the Exquis+ Toddler :)
The Exquisite+ Toddler is larger, with a wider seat and a higher backrest, to better support the back, legs, and even the head of older children. It is also reinforced to support a greater weight.
-
Our toddler carrier is designed for children from 18 months or approximately 9kg, up to approximately 4 years or 22kg.
-
The baby carrier can support a weight of up to approximately 22 kg.
-
Even if your child is walking, they tire quickly during long walks, trips, or outings. A toddler carrier is ideal for moments of tiredness, naps on the go, or environments unsuitable for a stroller (beaches, hiking trails, etc.).
-
Absolutely! Back carrying is particularly recommended for toddlers, as it offers better comfort for the wearer and helps reduce strain on the back and shoulders during long periods of carrying.
-
Yes! Our model is fully adjustable to adapt to the morphology of the wearer and the child: adjustable shoulder straps, waist belt and seat.
-
The fabric is machine washable at 30°C on a delicate cycle. We recommend placing it in a laundry bag and avoiding the tumble dryer to preserve the fabric's lifespan.
-
Yes, all our materials are certified free of harmful substances (Oeko-Tex certification).
-
Yes, our baby carrier is made from 100% cotton, a naturally breathable and soft material, ideal for warm days. For even more comfort, we recommend dressing your child in light clothing and ensuring they stay well hydrated.
-
With our Exquis+ Toddler, yes.
It maintains an ergonomic "M" position, with the knees higher than the buttocks, which is essential even for older children. The wearer's comfort has also been considered, thanks to optimized weight distribution and a flexible waistband and shoulder straps that adapt to all body shapes. -
It depends on the child (weight/height) and the comfort of the wearer, but generally up to 4 years old . Some parents use it for longer, especially when hiking or traveling.
-
Yes! The toddler carrier is perfect for children who want to alternate between walking and being carried. Easy to put on and take off quickly, it's designed for "stop & go" moments.
-
Yes, the Exquis+ Toddler carrier is ideal for hiking. It offers excellent lumbar support for the wearer and lasting comfort for the child, even for several hours.
Its soft, padded waistband ensures optimal comfort. It is designed with a layer of fabric placed under the nylon strap to prevent pressure points and provide better support.
Lightweight (less than 1 kg) and compact, it can be easily taken anywhere. -
Technically yes, but back carrying is strongly recommended for toddlers, as it is more comfortable for the wearer's back and allows more freedom of movement.
-
Yes! It's fully adjustable to fit different body shapes. Whether you're 1.60m or 1.90m tall, the baby carrier adjusts to your size in seconds.

-
The Exquis+ Toddler is lighter, more compact, and more comfortable. It also allows for better physical contact and, above all, respects your child's physiological position.
The Sling
-
Our European linen is an entirely natural textile, which results in natural variations, including small pills in the fabric.
We appreciate these characteristics and love the unique character they bring to each handmade linen sling.
-
Good news, absolutely not! As long as the installation is correct, there is no risk of the rings slipping.
If you would like to check the correct installation of your sling, feel free to watch our featured stories, or take advantage of your free 30-minute virtual babywearing workshop offered with any sling purchase from our shop.
-
This is a common concern for parents, but in reality, the risk is low, if not nonexistent. The sling's straps allow your baby to be held close to you. If you're unsure about how to properly install your sling, please don't hesitate to contact us so we can check it together.
Also, with Bud & Blossom, you benefit from a free 30-minute babywearing workshop via video call with one of our certified instructors for any purchase of a sling from our shop.
-
Be careful not to confuse marks with restricted circulation. While babywearing can indeed cause red marks, these are not painful for the baby. Generally, it's recommended to be able to fit a finger's width between the baby's leg and the fabric to ensure proper circulation. It's also important to make sure the baby is wearing clothing that allows for good mobility.
-
Use this text block to discuss some commonly used tips. The key to a good sling setup is to have a rocking motion! A baby sitting comfortably with a well-rounded back and knees higher than their bottom – in short, a physiological position!
For this, during installation, we advise you to create a rope with your sling (that is to say, make a small roll with the sling, and not unfold the fabric), then sit baby well ON this rope, so that he has the fabric in the crook of his knees, and his bottom well suspended.
Once, and only once, this position is achieved, I slide the fabric down to the nape of the baby's neck. Make sure the fabric is taut across the back; all the excess should be under the baby's bottom.
If you need help, feel free to check out our featured stories!
Even better, you can book a 30-minute video workshop with a certified babywearing instructor. To book your consultation, click here.

Linen is a material that provides a lot of support.
This support is achieved through the way the sling is woven; that is why we do not provide sling weights because they are not made like cotton slings, and indicating the weight could be misleading in your search.
